London Thames Path: Updated Edition

This book details a 65km (40 mile) stretch of walks along the London Thames Path. However, it is not intended for hikers to tackle the entire distance in one go. Instead, circular walks can be planned by adding together the distances marked on each section, with an additional 300m per bridge. East of Tower Bridge, there are no further bridge crossings, although there is a rail tunnel between Wapping and Rotherhithe, a foot tunnel at Greenwich, and a ferry between Hilton Docklands and Canary Wharf.

During the preparation of this second edition, a new 'super sewer' tunnel is being constructed under the Thames, resulting in the closure of several sections of the Thames Path. Alternative routes have been signposted, and it is anticipated that the work will be completed by 2025.

The Thames Path is delineated by a red dotted line throughout the book, and steps are indicated where access is required up or down to and from bridges. Additionally, the book features the nearest Underground, DLR, and railway stations, as well as Thames Clipper piers.
